But look at that face. You KNOW you're not going to mind looking at that face.
The first three months of Maddie's life were a wild ride. She spent a lot of time screaming (colic, I guess?) and Aaron was in the middle of his last semester of Master's classes. A lot of our daddy/daughter bonding moments looked like this:
Pretty adorable, but we're glad to not be in school anymore.
While Aaron finished up school, I worked for my parents doing some bookkeeping and tried to adjust to being a mom with all of the epic, terrifying, and awesome changes that implies.
At the end of February, the men's organization at church put on an "anything goes" pinewood derby race. There was a weight limit, but that was the only limit. Aaron opted to take apart an RC helicopter and put the propellers on the back of his car. Fan driven pinewood derby car. I think yes. The only issue was: it was slightly overweight. So he drilled a ton of holes in it! Problem solved! I can't remember it's official name, but a reference to Swiss cheese still seems appropriate, so:
Swiss Cheese Mobile
We went on a few outdoorsy adventures, the first of Maddie's being an outing to Cauldron Linn in Murtaugh. So here's a picture of our adorable child in her baby carrier. Outdoors. For the first time.
The falls weren't really flowing (hence the lack of picture), but it was a good outing and a good little morale boost in knowing that adventures still happen with babies. Maybe I'm the only one, but those first two months are tough. You panic that you're going to make them sick or hurt them or... insert 4 million concerns here... until you suddenly realize that they're big enough to go on a little adventure. Cauldron Linn. We went. It was good.
